JOSEPH FLACH & SONS LIMITED History...


Joseph Flach was born on 28th December 1857 in the city of Aschaffenburgh, Bavaria, Germany. Joseph founded the firm of Joseph Flach & Sons from an office in the City of London in 1882.

Throughout the years we have progressed from a small office in London, through several different warehouses in London, then to a warehouse located in Peterborough and most recently to our new much larger warehouse facility which gives us great opportunity to expand and develop.

We are extremely proud of our roots and maintaining our core values is intrinsic to our future success.


BOTANICAL MERCHANTS SINCE 1882

JFS import, stock, wholesale and export botanical products from around the world. We also supply a range of pharmaceutical raw materials and related chemicals. 

The firm holds extensive stocks of Botanical raw materials, including Medicinal herbs, Culinary Herbs, Gums, Spices, Flowers, Berries, Seeds and Peels, most of which can be supplied in either whole, cut, rubbed or powdered form. In more recent years, the range has been extended to include Pharmaceutical raw materials, Primary inorganic chemicals, Tinctures and Herbal extracts. 

Throughout the years the firm has not only gained expertise but also contacts Worldwide and is able to offer an extensive range of products. 

Our customers, located in more than 20 countries, span 5 continents and they range from small specialist product manufacturers to world-wide recognised international business. Some of our customers have been with us for over 50 years. 

Our customers use our fine quality products in several core markets: 

Animal Feeds, Cosmetics, Drinks, Foods, Herbal Medicines, Pharmaceuticals and Teas. Our customers include specialist teas suppliers, famous distilleries and other drinks manufactures, high street cosmetic firms, international food brands, respected homeopathic medicine suppliers and a host of animal feed specialists.

Although we have a minimum order quantity of 10kgs we are flexible and responsive and we provide considerable assistance to developing business that need efficient access to product for product development and market testing.

Delivering what our customers need and expect is what has kept us going over the many decades since Joseph Flach started his business in 1882 in London and it remains what lies at the heart of our operation today.


APPROACH

Ethical fair trading and behaviour at all levels is vital to us. We have high standards and expectations for sustainable growing practices and for the protection and wellbeing of the staff involved in harvesting and shipping the products we provide.

All our products are bought, shipped, stored and supplied with full traceability of each individual batch. We have been dealing with most of our suppliers for many decades and have very strong and mutually respectful relationships with them. One of the ways we are able to provide the level of service that we do to our customers is because of the strength of the commercial and personal ties we have established over many, many years with our key suppliers.

The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25th May 2018 and this impacts every organisation which holds or processes personal data relating to an EU citizen (including UK citizens).   It introduces new responsibilities, including the need to demonstrate compliance, more stringent enforcement and substantially increased penalties than the current Data Protection Act (DPA) which it will supersede.

Joseph Flach & Sons Ltd. is already committed to high standards of data security and information non-disclosure. 

We have extended the existing security and business management systems we already employ in our business and we have deployed systems to identify all critical data that we hold and ensure that we treat it in accordance with the required legislation. We will continue to monitor our use of your data and our procedures for the use of your data.

Our website at www.josephflach.co.uk is encoded using the encryption module of your browser and is certified for international encryption techniques. We use SSL (Secure Socket Layers) encryption to protect your personal information and Extended Validation to help you verify you are talking to us.

When someone visits our website we collect standard internet log information including details of visitor behaviour patterns.   We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of our site.   This information is collected anonymously without identifying anyone.
