Wholesale Aniseed Green

Pimpinella anisum

Form: Whole

Product description

Green Aniseed boasts many uses. It has been used in teas, as a spice in making bread, cakes, desserts and part of fragrant infusions.

Many users make use of the herb as a remedy. It has been known to aid stomach pains, indigestion and a host of other claimed health benefits.

Known for its flavour

Aniseed Green resembles Liquorice, Fennel and Tarragon. The spice has been known to find its way into many drinks and dishes. Its addition adds a recognisable and tasty flavour.

In particular, Western cuisine makes use of the herb.

Yet, it can also be found in famous liquors from across Europe, including Greece (Ouzo), Switzerland (Tojka) and France (Pernod).

It’s also used as a herbal remedy

The herb is still used as a remedy today and research shows that Green Aniseed packs a lot of micronutrients.

Some research suggests that the spice might offer benefits to those suffering from depression.

Other claims include that it:

  • Can reduce inflammation.

  • Might protect against stomach ulcers.

  • Inhibits bacterial growth through Anethole, its active ingredient.

  • May keep blood sugar levels in check when paired with a healthy diet.
