This Month: Get to Know Gabriel – Highlighting His Journey, Role, and Contributions to Our Team

Whilst JFS has a story of it’s own, going right back to 1882, we would like to introduce you to the current team.

Today we meet Gabriel who started working with JFS in January 2024.

Can you introduce yourself, your background personally and professionally?

Originally from a small town in Romania, I am now based in Peterborough after spending eight years in Bedfordshire. My professional journey began in 2015 when I moved to the UK and started working for a leading European pharmaceutical distributor. Over the years, I have held various roles, including Team Leader, Administrator, and Quality Assurance Technician. While my primary expertise lies in Quality Assurance, I also have a strong background in logistics and warehousing. A notable achievement in my career was overseeing the establishment of a dedicated storage facility for pharmaceutical products impacted by Brexit, which played a crucial role in maintaining smooth operations during a challenging period for the industry. Outside of work, I am passionate about football and poker, and I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends.

What are your best personal qualities and how do you feel these have impacted the business and culture at JFS?

I like to think that my reliability, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and positive approach to challenges have all contributed to a more efficient and supportive work environment at JFS, enhancing both our operational success and team morale.

What is your favourite part of your job?

My favourite part of working as a Quality Assurance Assistant at JFS is being part of a positive environment with a great team. The collaborative and supportive atmosphere makes each day enjoyable and enhances our collective success.

What are you most proud of at JFS?

I’m most proud of the fact that our products consistently meet and exceed our client’s needs and expectations. Knowing that our quality assurance efforts directly contribute to client satisfaction and success is incredibly fulfilling.

An interesting fact about yourself?

An interesting fact about me is that I spent 10 years playing football professionally in Romania’s juvenile sector before moving to the UK. This experience not only deepened my love for the sport but also instilled in me valuable lessons in discipline and teamwork that continue to benefit me in my professional life.

Favourite place you’ve ever been?

My favourite place I’ve ever been is The Bicaz Gorge where I had the chance to enjoy breathtaking mountain views and explore the stunning natural landscape. The beauty and serenity of the mountains have always captivated me, offering a perfect escape and a sense of tranquillity that I love.

Favourite meal?

While I don’t have a single favourite meal, I absolutely love Italian cuisine.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I play football, which keeps me active and engaged. I also enjoy playing poker, spending quality time with my family, and immersing myself in video games.

There are a few contenders, but I think Asafoetida Powder beats them all.

Favourite product?

My favourite botanical product is peppermint because of its refreshing and pleasant smell.

Most expensive product per gram?

The most expensive has to be saffron.

Most popular product?

I think that might be the Ascophyllum Nodosum Powder known as Kelp (not completely sure).

Most interesting product and why?

Ginseng would be an interesting product due to its long history of use for various purposes.
