This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Wayne, our dedicated Warehouse Supervisor, who’s been with us for over eight years. From his impressive background as a bicycle mechanic to his love for organisation, fancy dress, and fishing, Wayne brings a unique energy to the warehouse and the wider JFS team.
We asked Wayne a few questions about his life, interests, and day-to-day role at JFS. True to form, he gave us a no-nonsense, honest insight into what keeps him motivated and why he enjoys being part of the JFS family.

Can you introduce yourself, your background, personally and professionally?
I live in Peterborough with my wife, Louise and our four children, so my home life is very busy. Prior to working at JFS, I worked for 15 years as a Manager/Bicycle Mechanic in Stamford. I was looking for a change of career when the opportunity to join the JFS family presented itself. I have now worked for JFS for over 8 years, in my current role as Warehouse Supervisor.

What are your best personal qualities and how do you feel these have impacted the business and culture at JFS?
I am focused on achieving the highest standards within the Warehouse, from stock control/monthly targets to health & safety.

What is your favourite part of your job?
Achieving the monthly JFS sales targets by preparing the orders to go out in a timely manner.

What are you most proud of at JFS?
Being promoted to Supervisor

An interesting fact about yourself?
I love a good fancy dress party

Favourite place you’ve ever been?
Monaco, for the Grand Prix. I have been many times over the years.

Favourite meal?
Curries, Sunday roast, chilli

What do you do for fun?
I am a keen fisherman and cyclist. Socialising with family and friends.

What’s the most enjoyable thing for you working at JFS?
Working at JFS is like being part of a family, they care about you as a person.

One thing you’re the proudest of at work?
I like my workplace to be organised and functional, as I feel this is important within the warehouse and enables you to do your daily tasks better.

Smelliest product?
Asafoetida, also known as Devil’s Dung. This is used in curries and generally mixed with Fenugreek.

Favourite product?
Chamomile Flowers, this material has so many uses from herbal medicines, teas and cosmetics.

Most interesting product and why?
Lycopodium, this material is made up of many spores and is a very fine powder that moves like a liquid, which is fascinating. It has many uses, from cosmetics to fireworks.
Wayne’s dedication, eye for detail, and commitment to maintaining high standards make him an invaluable part of the JFS team. Whether he’s helping us hit monthly targets or keeping the warehouse running like clockwork, Wayne embodies the hardworking, supportive spirit we’re proud of at Joseph Flach & Sons.
