    Ash American Bark Cut

    Fraxinus americana

    Form: Cut

    Product description

Ash bark comes from the Ash tree and is a flowering plant species in the olive family Oleaceae. This tree is revered as a symbol of eternal life, and its healing qualities have earned it the title of "sacred" in some cultures.

    Said to treat various illnesses

The bark can be used as a tonic and may help treat fever, arthritis, constipation and bladder issues. They have also been used to strengthen the liver and spleen as well as detoxify the body.

Hippocrates, in Ancient Greece, used ash to make remedies for gout and rheumatism. The inside of ash bark can be used as a disinfectant to clean wounds.

    Ash bark in mythologies

Along with the oak and hawthorn, the ash tree was considered one of Ireland's sacred trees.

Odin, the Vikings' most powerful deity, hung himself from an ash tree and was rewarded with insights and wisdom. He and Thor, the god of thunder, each wielded magical spears carved from ash wood.
