Product description
Cut daphne mezereum bark consists of the dried, chopped bark of the daphne mezereum plant, featuring a light brown colour and a coarse texture. It has a mild, woody aroma and a bitter taste. Daphne mezereum is commonly found in temperate regions of Europe and Asia as well as Scandinavia and Russia. The bark contains coumarins, daphnetoxin, and mezerein. The red berries and pink flowers of the plant are poisonous to humans and handling even the twigs and bark can cause rashes. Cut daphne mezereum bark is used in traditional herbal remedies for its believed pain-relieving and purgative properties, often included in topical applications and herbal preparations.
