Product description
Native to southeastern North America, fringetrees are small, slow-growing trees or shrubs with large leaves and distinctive bark. They are sometimes referred to as ‘old man beard’ because of their wispy white petals. The bark’s biochemical makeup is said to have healing properties, and when dried, fringetree can be brewed to make tea and then drunk as a medicine.
Health benefits of fringetree bark cut
Traditionally, this medicinal herb has been used to aid gallstones and other issues with the liver or gallbladder. It has a laxative effect and can help water retention issues. Perhaps partly due to its bitter taste, the bark cut has been historically used to induce vomiting. Current research suggests there’s potential for fringetree bark to be used as hepatitis medication, although more research is needed.
