    Patchouli Herb Cut

    Pogostemon cablin

    Form: Cut

    Product description

Patchouli is a perennial herb native to tropical regions of Asia. The cut or finely cut form consists of the dried leaves, which have a slightly fuzzy texture and a distinct, earthy, and slightly musky aroma. The flavour is slightly bitter and pungent. Patchouli is commonly used in perfumes, incense, and traditional herbal remedies.

The plant reaches 75 cm in height with small pale pink flowers. Part of the Lamiaceae family Patchouli contains various volatile oils and flavones.

    Uses:

Patchouli is most commonly used as an oil in perfumes and incense as well as insect repellents and chewing tobacco but the herb has been used in traditional herbal remedies for its believed anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, and insect-repellent properties. Leaves have also been used as a moth repellent.

Patchouli leaves have been used to make herbal teas and eaten as a vegetable or seasoning.

Natural products can cause side effects. As with any herbal supplement, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating into one’s routine, especially for individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or have pre-existing medical conditions.
