Product description
Yellow Dock, also known as curled dock, narrowleaf dock, or sour dock, is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Polygonaceae family. It is native to Europe and Western Asia but is widely naturalised in many regions, including North America. Yellow Dock is recognized for its distinctive wavy or curly-edged leaves and its deep yellow taproot. The leaves of Yellow Dock are bright green, elongated, and have a wavy or curly edge. They grow in a rosette pattern at the base of the plant. The root is thick, yellowish, and taproot-like, giving the plant its common name, yellow dock. It is these distinctive roots which are harvested, dried and ground to produce the Yellow Dock Root Powder.
Yellow Dock Root contains anthraquinone glycosides, volatile oils and tannins.
