Product description
Birch bark cut is composed of dried pieces of the outer bark of birch trees, presenting a pale beige to light brown colour and a rough, fibrous texture. It has a mild, woody aroma and a slightly bitter taste. Birch trees, in the Betulaceae family, are commonly found in temperate and boreal regions, particularly in North America, Europe, and Asia. The bark contains betulinic acid, salicylates, and tannins. Cut birch bark is used historically in traditional herbal remedies for its believed anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties, in teas, decoctions, and topical applications. It has been used by some in treatments for tumours. Birch Bark Oil has been used for treatment of skin conditions.
