Chaste tree berries crushed are the dried, crushed fruits of the Chaste Tree, displaying a dark brown to black colour and a coarse texture. They have a spicy, peppery aroma and taste and are part of the Laminaceae family. Chaste tree is commonly found in Mediterranean regions and Asia. The berries contain essential oils, flavonoids, and iridoids. Crushed chaste tree berries have been used historically in herbal remedies for their believed hormone-balancing and menstrual cycle-supporting properties, often included in teas, tinctures, and capsules as well as animal nutrition.
