Product description
Nigella Sativa, also known as black cumin, black seed or black caraway, is an annual flowering plant native to Southwest Asia and Eastern Europe. The whole seeds are small, black, and have a rough, ridged texture. They have a slightly bitter, pungent aroma and a warm, slightly spicy flavour. Nigella sativa seeds are commonly used in Middle Eastern, Indian, and North African cuisines, as well as in traditional herbal remedies.
Nigella Sativa Seeds contain oils which contain linoleic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid as well as aromatics, protein and alkaloids.
Uses:
Nigella Sativa Seeds are commonly used to flavour curries, vegetables and pulses as well as bread, cheese and salads.
Nigella sativa seeds have been used in traditional herbal remedies for their believed anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. However, excessive consumption may cause digestive issues or allergic reactions in some individuals. Moderation is advised, especially for those with plant allergies or gastrointestinal conditions.
Natural products can cause side effects. As with any herbal supplement, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating into one’s routine, especially for individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or have pre-existing medical conditions.
