    Pine Sprouts Dried Cut

    Pinus Sylvestris

    Form: Cut

    Product description

Pine sprouts, also known as pine buds or young pine needles, are the tender new growths that emerge at the tips of pine branches, usually in the spring. When dried and cut, these sprouts are preserved for use in various culinary, herbal remedy and wellness applications. Pine sprouts are harvested from different species of pine trees, such as Scots pine, which are rich in vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds. Dried and cut pine sprouts are typically light green to pale brown, depending on how they were dried. They have a fibrous texture and are cut into small, manageable pieces. Pine sprouts have a distinctive fresh, resinous, and slightly citrusy aroma. The flavour is somewhat tangy and refreshing, with a hint of bitterness.

Pine sprouts can also be bought in whole form. The key components of pine sprouts are cellulose and lignin. Pine needles are also a good source of vitamin C.

    How is it used?

Pine sprouts are traditionally used to support respiratory health. They are believed to help clear the airways, relieve coughs, and reduce symptoms of colds and bronchitis. The high vitamin C content in pine sprouts is thought to make them a natural supplement for boosting the immune system. The sprouts are thought to help reduce inflammation, particularly in the respiratory and digestive systems.

Pine sprouts can be brewed into a refreshing and aromatic tea, often consumed for its soothing effects on the respiratory system and to boost overall wellness. The sprouts can be used as a seasoning or flavouring in dishes, especially in Scandinavian and Eastern European cuisines, where they are added to broths, soups, and sauces.

The essential oils in pine sprouts can be released through steam inhalation, which is often used to relieve congestion and sinus discomfort.
