Product description
The berries on a hawthorn tree form after the hermaphrodite flowers become pollinated from an insect (for example a bumble bee). These red berries are known as “haws” and are a food source for small mammals and migrating birds like thrushes. They can also be made into jellies and wines for human consumption.
Health benefits
Hawthorn berries can benefit your cardiovascular health by strengthening the whole system. This makes them a great treatment to help angina and stabilise blood pressure. Hawthorn berries contain many antioxidants, catechins and anti-inflammatory compounds which can boost your heart health by fighting off free radicals. This allows them to potentially boost stamina, help shortness of breath and ease fatigue. Haws are also said to help to treat anxiety, digestive problems and skin conditions (as well as generally boost the immune system).
