Product description
Mistletoe herb powder (Viscum album) is made from the leaves and young twigs of mistletoe, and is used in a wide variety of claimed remedies for physical and mental conditions. Mistletoe, by itself or in conjunction with other herbs or tinctures, has been promoted as a way to both prevent and treat cancer, and to reduce the effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Historically, it has also been used as a treatment for menopause symptoms, seizures, headaches, whooping cough, gallbladder and liver problems.
Applications: Therapeutic & cosmetic
This centuries-old remedy is still used today as a calming tea with a floral taste. Mistletoe herb powder can also be added to capsules or infused as a herbal extract, and many cosmetic manufacturers put it in topical ointments and liniments.
Also known as Viscum album
Viscum album is the Latin name for European mistletoe - also known as common mistletoe or simply ‘mistletoe’. It is a semi-parasitic plant that lives on trees with soft bark, including apple, oak, and poplar.
