    Oak Bark Powder

    Quercus robur

    Form: Powder

    Product description

Oak bark, also known as tanners bark, is derived from various species of oak trees, part of the Fagaceae family. The bark has a rough, fibrous texture and a slightly astringent, woody aroma. It has a greyish surface with a reddish-brown inner. The flavour is bitter and astringent. Oak bark is available in cut or powdered form and is commonly used in tanning, dyeing, and traditional herbal remedies.

    Oak Bark contains multiple tannins.

    Uses:

Oak bark has been used in traditional herbal remedies for its believed astringent, antiviral, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has historically been used to treat diarrhoea, haemorrhoids and throat problems as well as skin conditions. However, excessive consumption may cause digestive issues or allergic reactions in some individuals. Moderation is advised, especially for those with plant allergies or gastrointestinal conditions.

Natural products can cause side effects. As with any herbal supplement, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating into one’s routine, especially for individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or have pre-existing medical conditions.
