Yellow clay is a fine, yellowish powder with a smooth texture, composed primarily of the mineral illite and other trace minerals. It has no significant aroma or taste. Yellow clay is typically found in sedimentary deposits worldwide, particularly in Europe and North America. The clay contains hydrated aluminium silicate and iron oxides. Yellow clay is used in cosmetic and therapeutic applications for its absorbent and revitalizing properties, often included in face masks, soaps, and poultices.
