Product description
Nettle Leaves are derived from the stinging nettle plant, a herbaceous perennial native to Europe, Asia, and parts of North America. The leaves have a coarse, hairy texture, serrated edges, stinging cells and a slightly earthy, grassy aroma. The taste is slightly bitter and astringent. Nettle leaves are available in various forms, including whole, cut, or powdered. They are commonly used in herbal teas, soups, and as a nutritional supplement.
Part of the Urticaceae family, Nettle, also known as stinging nettle, is considered a weed, growing everywhere. The leaves contain flavonoids, glycoprotein, histamine and seratonin as well as vitamin C amongst other compounds.
Uses:
Nettle leaves have been used in traditional herbal remedies for their believed diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and astringent properties. However, excessive consumption may cause digestive issues or allergic reactions in some individuals. Moderation is advised, especially for those with plant allergies or gastrointestinal conditions.
Natural products can cause side effects. As with any herbal supplement, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating into one’s routine, especially for individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or have pre-existing medical conditions.
