    Olive leaves are derived from the olive tree, part of the Oleaceae family, native to the Mediterranean region. The leaves have a leathery texture and a slightly bitter, astringent aroma. The flavour is slightly bitter and pungent. Olive leaves are available in whole or powdered form and are commonly used in traditional herbal remedies and as a seasoning.

    Olive leaves contain various iridoids, triterpenes, chalcones and flavonoids.

    Uses:

    Olive leaves have been used in some Chinese cuisine dishes and on desserts and in teas.

    Olive leaves have been used in traditional herbal remedies historically being used to treat thyroid issues and blood glucose.
