    Orange Slices Dried

    Citrus sinensis

    Form: Whole

    Product description

Dried orange slices have a diverse range of uses, including enhancing mulled wine, garnishing gin and cocktails (or mocktails), crafting scented wreaths and decorating cakes. While dried orange slices can be used for the same purposes as orange peel, they are especially useful for when a decorative effect is needed. They can also be used to make orangeade or simply to flavour water.

    History of the orange

First appearing in Chinese literature in 314 BC, the orange - and thus its dried variant - originates in Southern China, Northeast India and Myanmar. Christopher Columbus brought the orange to North America in 1493, while the first English orange trees were purportedly planted in Surrey by Sir Francis Carew in around 1562.

    Dried orange slices: Nutritional value

Sweet they may be, but dried orange slices are completely natural and healthy snacks that keep their nutrients considerably longer than fresh foods. Immune system-boosting Vitamin C and various antioxidants deliver the chief nutritional boosts. One should always check that dried orange slices are for consumption and not just for decoration.
