Blackcurrant fruit powder is a fine, dark purple powder with a smooth texture, made from dried blackcurrants. It has a strong, tart aroma and a tangy, fruity taste. Blackcurrants are cultivated in temperate regions and gardens, particularly in Europe and New Zealand. The powder is rich in anthocyanins, vitamins, and tannins. Used in beverages, baked goods, and nutritional supplements, blackcurrant fruit powder provides a concentrated source of flavour and nutrients. Blackcurrants have traditionally been thought to assist with diarrhoea and as a source of vitamin C.
